Microsoft adds QR codes to Windows 10 Blue Screen of Death

The Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) has been part of Windows operating system since the beginning and pops up when the operating system crash, while encountering a serious problem and offers a few details of what happened.

Now when you get the BSOD message, you might also see a QR Code show up on the blue screen, as Microsoft is testing the feature on Windows 10. In the Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14316, some users have noticed a QR code on the BSOD screen.

In theory this means that you will be able to scan the QR code with your smartphone, and it should redirect you to the support page and give you details on what caused the crash/problem. It is not known whether the supports pages will offer information on how to avoid the problem.

The QR codes in the BSOD will be a part of Windows 10 Anniversary update, which will debut in Summer.
