Samsung Galaxy Note6 to reportedly pack Snapdragon 823 SoC
Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 SoC made its debut with LeEco Le Max Pro that was announced at CES 2016, and later the same chip was equipped on Samsung's Galaxy S7/S7 edge, Sony Xperia X Performance, LG G5, Xiaomi Mi 5 and more.
Samsung's Galaxy Note6 was also rumored to be powered by Snapdragon 820 SoC. But now a new report/leak coming out of China suggests that Qualcomm is working on an enhanced version of Snapdragon 820 SoC dubbed Snapdragon 823 (MSM8996Pro) SoC, that will be utilized by Samsung' Galaxy Note6. The leak also mentions the LG's G Flex 3 and Sony's upcoming flagship product will also use the chip.
While Snapdragon 820 SoC has four Kryo cores clocked at maximum speed of 2.15GHz with 624MHz Adreno 530 GPU, the Snapdragon 823 SoC is said to slightly powerful with a clock speed of up to 3GHz and will have a faster 700MHz Adreno 530 GPU. The Snapdragon 823 SoC will support up to 8GB of LPDDR4 (2166MHz dual-channel) RAM, up to 25MP camera with Spectra 14-bit dual-ISP.
Samsung usually outs its Note series smartphone in August or September, but this year the launch is rumored to be in July, so we can expect Qualcomm to announce the Snapdragon 823, before that.
