Samsung Gear 360 VR camera costs $350
Samsung introduced its first 360 degree VR camera, the Gear 360 at MWC 2016, however the company did not reveal the pricing, but said that it will roll out in Q2 2016.
Today Samsung has revealed the pricing of the device. The Gear 360 VR camera will cost 399,300 Won ($350 | Rs. 23,300) and will be available for purchase from the company website. It will also be available across 450 stores nationwide starting from May. The Gear 360 comes bundled with a free 64GB Samsung EVO Plus microSD card as a part of limited period launch offer.
The Gear 360 is a spherical shaped VR camera, and comes with dual fish-eye lenses with 15MO image sensors that can capture high-resolution 3840 x 1920 360-degree video along with 30-megapixel still images. The VR camera lets you capture 180-degree wide angle video and images using only one side of the camera lens. It provides Bright Lens F2.0, which creates high-res images even in low-light condition as well as allow users to create panoramic videos.
The VR camera comes with microSD card slot (supports up to 128GB) and supports WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.1, USB 2.0 and NFC connectivity It is IP53 certified for water and dust resistance, and also includes accelerometer and gyroscope sensors.
Samsung's Gear 360 VR camera is compatible with Samsung Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy S6 edge+ and Galaxy Note5. It pairs with these smartphones with a dedicated mobile app which can be downloaded from Google Play Store.
