Vernee Apollo Lite, a $200 smartphone with Helio X20 SoC, 4GB RAM
China based Vernee, made its debut in the smartphone market last month with the launch of Apollo, a $400 phone with 6GB RAM, Quad HD display, Helio X20 SoC and metal body. Now the company has launched a tonned down and more affordable Apollo version, dubbed Apollo Lite.
The phone sports a full metal unibody design, gets a fingerprint sensor at the back and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, but gets a bump down in the screen resolution, RAM, storage, camera and battery department.
The Vernee Apollo Lite sports a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display, and is powered by deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 (MT6797) processor with Mali T880 GPU and 4GB RAM. On-board atorage is 32GB, further expandable via microSD card.
For photography, the Apollo Lite, sports 16-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front facing camera. It houses USB Type-C port and Dual-SIM slots. The batter capacity is not known.
With all these specs, the Vernee Apollo Lite is priced at $200, and is claimed to be the most cheapest smartphone with Helio X20 SoC + 4GB RAM in the world. It is expected to be available in May. Vernee also has a mid-ranger up its sleeve dubbed Thor, which is now available for pre-order.
