Android One To Get A Reboot Soon
With an aim to bring Nexus like stock experience to people at affordable prices, Android One was launched back in 2014. It was introduced in India with three OEMs that were Micromax, Spice and Karbonn and later on Lava joined the club with a bigger phone and better specs than that of the initial ones. Well, there's no doubt that Google took care for its updates and with the Marshmallow update arrived as same as the Nexus devices showed it and faded the mistake done in the late release of Lollipop to Android One.
Indian market didn't showed that much interest to this series and initiative by Google resulting in speculations that the program might be in a problem. But with regularly launching One devices worldwide the program is kept alive. Not to mention monthly security updates directly from Google is one of the major plus point to the program. With General Mobile 4G already running Android N Developer Preview, Android One is at a stage of expansion. According to Mike Hayes, Director Business Development, the initiative is still drawing interest from several OEMs worldwide. He added that the one should expect more and more Android One devices in the near future, the speed at which the devices will launch directly depend upon the OEMs. Current Android One devices are rocking Marshmallow and were among the first to receive it along with Nexus, There are rumors around that 1st Gen of the series will also run Android N's Final Build while the 2nd Gen is confirmed for it.
