Apple's iPhone 7 to reportedly ditch 16GB for 32GB base storage model
Multiple reports and rumors in the past have revealed have revealed few details of Apple's upcoming iPhone 7. Now according to IHS Technology analyst Kevin Wang, Apple will reportedly ditch the 16GB model of the iPhone 7, instead the base model of iPhone will come with 32GB storage.
Wang claims to have received the information from Apple's supply chain sources. Furthermore, he also claims that iPhone 7 will pack 2GB RAM, similar to iPhone 6s. It's worth mentioning that earlier, KGI securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo to pack 3GB RAM to meet the increased image processing requirement.
However, the big story here is that Apple will bid adieu to the 16GB storage model. Currently iPhones come in 16GB, 64GB and 128GB storage variants, and Apple has been criticized for now including a 32GB storage variant. The problem with 16GB storage is that it not enough for a flagship product, especially on with 4K video support.
According to earlier reports/rumors, the iPhone 7 will house a large camera module and four speaker grills. Apple is also expected to ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack in favor of Lightning port or Bluetooth wireless connectivity for audio output.
