Asus ZenFone Go TV smartphone comes with built-in digital TV tuner

Asus has announced ZenFone Go TV smartphone, which comes with a built-in digital TV tuner. The main highlight of ZenFone Go TV is that it doubles as TV and you can watch local TV channels.

This is possible thanks to Sony’s SMT-EW100 Digital TV tuner chipset which can receive streaming from multiple DTV standards such as DVB-T, DVB-T2, DVB-T2 Lite, ISDB-T and ISDB-Tmm. It supports DTV channels available in 41 countries.

As for the the specs, the Asus ZenFone Go TV comes with 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and is powered by 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor backed by Adreno 305 GPU and 2GB RAM. It comes in two storage models, 16GB and 32GB, with microSD card slot for storage expansion (up to 64GB).

It sports 8MP or 13MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash and 5-megapixel front camera. Connectivity features iclude 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with Zen UI on top and is backed by 3010mAh battery.

The Asus ZenFone Go TV is priced at NT$5,490 ($168 | Rs. 11,200) and is now available for purchase in Taiwan. It comes in Charcol Black, Pearl White, Glamour Red, Floral Pink, Lake Blue, Silver Blue, Sheer Gold and Glacier Gray colors.
