Five more railway stations get Google's RailWire free Wi-Fi service


Google in collaboration with RailTel has expanded the free high-speed public WiFi service to five more railway station across India. The service has now expanded to Ujjain, Jaipur, Patna, Guwahati and Allahabad railway stations.

This is in continuation with its project to provide high-speed public WiFi service at 100 station across India by end of 2016. Google has been deploying the service with extensive fibre network of RailTel which provides internet services as RailWire.

With the launch, the free WiFi service is now active in 15 stations across the country. Backed by 'phenomenal response', to the service in Mumbai Central, the project will be extended to cover key suburban Mumbai stations. The service will be further expanded to Dadar, Bandra Terminus , Churchgate, Thane, Kalyan, Panvel, Vashi, Kurla, Chattrapati Shivaji Terminus, Borivali and a few others stations.
