Google Keyboard v5.0 gets one-handed mode, new gestures and more


Google Keyboard has received a major update that bumps the app to version 5.0 and brings improvements and a couple of new features including one-handed mode, new gestures, adjustable keyboard height and quicker access to emoji.

The one-handed texting mode in the Google Keyboard app lets you type on devices with bigger screens with comfort.  The one-hand mode can be activated by long pressing the comma button then tap on the one-handed icon. Once activated you can change the orientation of the keyboard to left or right hand as per your choice.

The updated keyboard app, now lets you select the height of the keyboard with five different options ranging from short to tall. With gesture feature, you can delete whole words by holding down the delete key. It also includes gesture controls, to move the cursor left or right by swiping the space bar. In addition there is a new emoji shortcut on the right side of the space bar.

The version 5 of Google Keyboard app is being rolled out to Android users gradually across the globe.
