NVIDIA GTX 1080, GTX 1070 are faster than Titan X
NVIDIA has announced it latest top-end gaming graphics, the GeForce GTX 1080, which it claims to deliver 2x performance and 3x the efficiency compared to GTX Titan X. It based on Nvidia's new Pascal architecture and built on TSMCs 16nm FinFET processor.
The smaller chip design uses less power and emits less heat, providing higher core clock speed to increase performance. The GeForce GTX 1080 can push 9 Terfaflops of performance and is the first to harness the power of 8GB of Micron's GDDR5X memory, running at 10Gbps for a total bandwidth of 320GBps.
It supports DirextX 12, Vulkan graphics APIs and is designed to drive display beyond 5K including HDR, as well as offering the performance required for immersive VR.
The GTX 1080 will be available at an MSRP of $599 (Rs. 39,890), and there's a NVIDEIA Founders Edition as well available for $699 (Rs. 46,500). It will be available starting May 27 world-wide.
There is also a cheaper option, the GTX 1070, which is more powerful than Titan X with 6.5 Teraflops performance and 8GB GDDR5. It will be available from June 10 for a MRSP of $379 (Rs. 25,240), while the Founders Edition will cost $449.
