Sony Xperia E5 with 5-inch display, two day battery life announced


Sony has announced a new Xperia E series mid-range smartphone, the Xperia E5, by listing it on the company's global website. The phone comes in Single/Dual SIM variants (depending on market), supports 4G LTE, runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and houses ClearAudio+ powered speakers.

The Sony Xperia E5 (and dual-SIM version) comes with 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display and is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor coupled with Mali T720 GPU and 1.5GB RAM. On-board storage is 16GB, which can further be expanded via microSD card (up to 200GB).

For photography, it sports 13-megapixel rear camera with  LED flash and 5-megapixel front facing camera. For connectivity there is 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFI 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and NFC. It is fueled by 2700mAh battery, which promises up to two days of battery life.

The Sony Xperia E5 is priced at 199 Euros ($221 | Rs. 15,000) and will go on sale in Europe, Latin America, Middle East and Africa starting from late June 2016. It comes in Graphite Black and White color options.
