Xiaomi Redmi 3A gets TENAA approval


Xiaomi earlier this month unveiled the 6.44-inch Mi Max phablet and now Xiaomi is reportedly gearing up for the launch of new Redmi 3 variant, dubbed as Redmi 3A. The phone has been certified by China's telecommunication authority TENAA revealing specs and photos.

As for the specs, the Redmi 3A will feature a 5-inch display with 720 x 1280 HD resolution and equipped with 1.4GHz octa-core Snapdragon 435 processor w/ Adreno 505 GPU, 2GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt expandable storage.

For photography, it will get a 13-megapixel rear camera w/ dual LED flash and 5-megapixel front facing camera. The Redmi 3A will have a fingerprint scanner at the back, runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, and will support 4G VoLTE. TENAA also reveals that Redmi 3A will pack a massive 4000mAh battery that could offer two or three days of battery life on normal usage.

For comparison, the Redmi 3, packed almost the same hardware specs as Redmi 3A, but was equipped with an octa-core Snapdragon 616 SoC, a slightly bigger 4100mAh battery and CNY 699 price tag ($105 | Rs. 7,500).

The Xiaomi Redmi 3A is expected to launch in China soon and will be available from China Mobile. The handset is rumored to cost CNY 599 ($91 | Rs. 6,000).
