6.44-inch Xiaomi Mi Max launched in India starting at Rs. 14,999

After announcing the Mi Max in China last month, Xiaomi has finally launched the phablet India. The Mi Max will be offered in two variants SD-650 SoC + 3GB RAM + 32GB native storage for Rs. 14,999, and SD-652 SoC + 4GB RAM + 128 GB native storage at Rs. 19,999. 

The Mi Max will go on sale starting from July 6 at mi.com and registrations for the sale is now open. It will also be available through Xiaomi's online retail partners including Amazon India, Flipkart, Snapdeal, Tata CLiQ and Paytm from July 13.

As part of launch offer, Xiaomi announced three months of free movies and one year of unlimited music on Hungama Play for the first 1 million Mi Max, Mi 5, and Redmi Note 3 users. Free Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice movie streaming for first 10,000 Mi Max users.

The Mi Max is a 6.44-inch phablet with an extremely thin 7.5mm full metal unibody design, and a fingerprint scanner at the back. It houses hybrid Dual-SIM slot, which means you can use the second slot either as microSD card or SIM slot when required.

Spec-wise, the Xiaomi Mi Max features a huge 6.44-inch 1080p display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection and is fueled by a massive 4850mAh battery. For photography, there's 16-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash and phase detection auto-focus. For snapping selfies you get 5-megapixel wide-angle front camera. Connectivity duties are handled by 4G LTE, VoLTE, IR blaster, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS. It runs Android Marshmallow based MIUI 7, but will be upgraded to MIUI 8 on August 16.
