CREO opens Fuel OS to other smartphone brands, plans to announce OEM partnerships soon
Bengaluru based CREO made its debut in the smartphone market with Mark 1 for Rs. 19,999 in April. The main highlight of the handset is the Android Lollipop based Fuel OS, which the brand promised to push an update every month with new features. Keeping its promise, CREO has so far released two monthly updates to the Mark 1.
Now CREO is looking to team up with other smartphone brands for its Fuel OS. CREO CEO, Sai Srinivas stated that the company will not release any more smartphone this year, instead, open its Android based Fuel OS to other well established smartphone manufacturers. The company is also set to announce a major OEM partnership next month.
CREO will be releasing all the regular software updates and features of the Mark 1 to the devices of its partnering OEMs as well. The company is also working on an auto feature, which will automatically download new software updates, when the phone is left idle and connected to WiFi.
"An operating system should benefit both the end-user and OEM. Smartphone brands have huge amount of consumer information but, sadly, are doing nothing with it. We will offer an enterprise package of tools through which OEMs can understand more about their handsets and users and can use this information to gain consumer loyalty," said Srinivas.
Most Indian Android smartphone brands fail to upgrade their device to the latest OS and CREO might be the solution. CREO is confident that the company can offer faster Android updates, as it has a dedicated team working on Fuel OS.
