Solarin, a $14000 smartphone with military grade security
Israel based startup Sirin labs launched its first smartphone, called Solarin, which it claims to offer most advanced privacy technology. The phone is aimed at business leaders, celebrities, VIPs and the super-rich,carrying sensitive information, but does not want to compromise on usability, quality or design.
The phone features high-end security features including military-grade security encryption, shielded mode that lets you make secure phone calls and send encrypted message. The mode can be activated via the security switch on the back. It also comes with security features from third party companies such as mobile security, anti-cyberattack software from Zimperium and offers KoolSpin chip-to-chip 256-bit AED encryption.
As for the specs, the Solarin comes with 5.5-inch 2K display and is powered by Snapdragon 810 processor with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop, sports 23.8-megapixel rear camera & 8-megapixel front camera, and packs 4040mAh battery. It also has a fingerprint scanner located at the back.
The Sirin Labs Solarin is priced at 9,500 British pounds ($14,000 | Rs. 9,25,000) and will go on sale online globally, at Sirin Labs’ first retail store in Mayfair (34 Bruton Place), London from June 1; and at Harrods, Knightsbridge from June 30.
