Twitter and Vine video limits extended to 140 seconds

To date, Twitter lets you upload up to 30 second video clip, while Twitter owned Vine allows for only six-second clips. Now Twitter and Vine have increased the video length-limit on their platform to 140 seconds.

The video tweets on the micro-blogging platform increased by over 50 percent since the beginning of 2016, which is the reason Twitter increased the video tweet length-limit. Select publishers will continue to be able to post videos up to 10 minutes long through the professional publisher tools.

Twitter is also adding a new video viewer to its platform. After tapping on a video tweet or Vine, you can watch the video in full-screen mode, and then see suggested relevant videos below it.

The extended video length-limit is currently available for Android and iOS devices and will soon roll out to Mac and Windows. 

Earlier this year, Instagram also extended the video length limit from 15 seconds to 60 seconds.
