ZTE Blade A2 with metal body, fingerprint scanner, front facing flash announced


ZTE has expanded its mid-range Blade series smartphone with the addition to Blade A2 to the lineup. The Blade A2 comes as a successor to the Blade A1, which was launched in December last year, priced at an affordable $93 (Rs. 6,000).

The ZTE Blade A2 has the same design as Blade A1, but comes with a premium metal unibody design instead of plastic. The phone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and comes with 360-degree fingerprint scanner located at the back, which is capable of unlocking it in just 0.3 seconds.

Coming to the specs, the Blade A2 features a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS 2.5D curved display and is powered by 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor backed by Mali T7860 GPU and 2gB RAM. On-board storage is 16GB which can increased by inserting a microSD card into the Hybrid SIM slot (second tray).

For photography, there's 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, PDAF and 5-megapixel front facing camera accompanied by LED flash as well, that will let you snap better selfies in low-light conditions. Connectivity duties are handled by 4G LTE (w/ VoLTE), 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It is backed by 2500mAh battery.

Priced at CNY 699 ($105 | Rs. 7,000), the ZTE Blade A2 is now available for order via jd.com in China, and will go on sale starting from June 15. It comes in Silver, Gray or Gold color options.
