A More Categorized Google Play Store Is On Its Way
Google Play Store is undergoing many new changes including some UI Tweaks and new sections plus with some new speedy enhancements. Last week the same was in headlines as the new algorithm from Google allows the developers to reduce app sizes drastically and now Play Store is again making to the top of news and blogs with a new category thing.
Being the app platform for the most liked and used operating system in the world, Play store has unlimited apps to use from and with that count increasing second by second its more likely a need to categorize the whole thing. And Google is now to the rescue for it as for the fresh rumors, New Layout for Categories is going to be live soon it.
A total of 8 new categories are going to make it to the Play family allowing users to find stuff more easily and quickly with fast approach and discoverable quality.
New Categories will be -
- Art & Design
- Auto & Vehicles
- Beauty
- Dating
- Events
- Food & Drink
- House & Home (Should go with a better one!)
- Parenting
Now for example, Prisma as we all know will be perfectly shifted to Art & Design category which will make it more approachable.
Not only this, some categories that are already running in Play Store right now are going to be Renamed.
- Transportation is going to be Maps and Navigation
- Media and Video is going to be Video Players and Editors
To what information we have, these new categories will be live in around 60 days. Once live, it will be a great factor for both users and developers as new apps will be categorized and will allow developers to make their apps reach out to more and more users. Considering that the categories are more and homepage has less space, so all new ones might be added in Hambuger Menu.
