Apple is reportedly killing its 16GB storage variant with upcoming iPhone
Earlier in May IHS analyst claimed that Apple will ditch the 16GB model of iPhone on its next iPhone. Now a fresh report from Wall Street Journal claims the same. According to WSJ citing person familiar with the matter reports that the upcoming iPhone's base model will start with 32GB internal storage and ditch the 16GB storage variant.
The new iPhones are expected to have more storage for those photos. Instead of 16GB as a starting point for the entry-level iPhone, the new starting point will be 32GB, according to a person familiar with Apple’s iPhone plans. Hallelujah! The next iPhone will reportedly come in three storage variants of 32GB, 128GB and 256GB. Currently both the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and 5.5-inch iPhone 6s Plus comes in 16GB, 64GB and 128GB models. To remind you, even the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus were rumored to ditch the 16GB storage model, but that didn't happen. Maybe this year, Apple will finally listed to customers demand for more storage. With increased storage iPhone users will be able to store more photos, music, videos and apps.
Apple's upcoming iPhone will have a design similar to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s, but with redesigned antenna lines. The headphone jack will be ditched in an attempt to make the upcoming iPhone thinner and make its body water resistant.
In related, alleged images of Apple's upcoming iPhone are doing rounds in the internet, but according to @onleaks they are fake.
Apple's upcoming iPhone, just like most of the iPhone in the previous years, is expected to be unveiled in September.
