Google adds multi-stop routes feature to Maps


Google has added a new much needed feature on it Maps app for Android devices, that leys you add multiple waypoint directions to you destination for easier navigation.

Now when you open Maps and search for a specific location, you will get an option to 'Add Stop'. The function will let you add multiple stops while navigation to the main destination. This will give your directions from Point A to B to C and so on. You will also be able to rearrange the order of stops, by tapping and holding the three dot menu to the left side of 'Add Stop' option, and drag it to the position you want.

The feature is already available on Maps for web was expected to roll out in April, but has started rolling out now, and bumps the app version to 9.31.2. The latest update is from server side and hence will be automatically added to the app. The feature will also come soon to Maps apps on iOS.

In addition Google is adding a new feature to the Timeline on Maps for Android. If you have Location History enabled, then you can date from recent vacation or everyday life, and add notes to the Timeline, to help you remember what you did on your everyday schedule and recent vacation.
