Google Keyboard 5.1 Makes Way To Play Store
Originally teased with Developer Preview of Android Nougat, Google Keyboard v5.1 is now finally making its way to the Play Store for all. However, you can sideload the app also if it hasn't shown up on your Play Store, in case. Well, this is another sort of big update but focuses of user's interest as the main highlight of this update goes with different themes for the keyboard to choose from and a separate theme in which user can insert its own picture or any other image he/she wants as the background of the keyboard.
Keyboard settings has a new menu called Theme, where users can change the outlook of the keyboard and choose image for background as desired. What's noticeable is that now it includes the option for Key Border in each theme that takes you back to that old KitKat kind of look. Not only this, what's more packed inside this update is the Unicode 9 Emoji with selectable skin tones but to our usage it seems not to be working with Marshmallow but with Nougat only.
The user image selection theme is the first in the list and when a user selects an image it then takes to cropping the image section where the Keyboard sized image cropper is ready to crop the image, Once applied the Black Overlay bar sets or adjusts the brightness of the image for the background of the keyboard. More brighter image kind of takes away that comfortable look at the button or say alphabets so it is advised to keep the Black Overlay as low as possible to enhance the visibility of the keys.
