Google reportedly working on two Android Wear smartwatches with Google Assistant intergation

Google is working on two new Android smartwatches code-named Angelfish and Swordfish reports Android Police. Google is manufacturing the smartwatches on its own, which will allow them to demonstrate best of Android Wear's capabilities.

The report suggests that the new smartwatches will possible be Nexus-branded and will come integrated with Google Assistant. To recall Google announced the Google Assistant platform at its I/O event in May. The new assistant brings contextual skills to Google Now, and can now answer the questions in a conversational manner, enabling two way dialogue.However, its not known what functionality the integration would bring.

Angelfish will be the larger of the two and will resemble the current Moto 360 and LG Urbane 2nd-Edition LTE, and will come in 42mm and 46mm sizes. It will have circular display, LTE connectivity, built-in GPS and heart rate monitor. The smartwatch will also include a circular crown-like button that is found on many other Android Wear wearable. There will also be two additional keys, but it's not clear what functions they will perform.

Swordfish will be a less premium offering and will be smaller and slimmer with 42mm diameter and 10.6mm thickness. It will sport a design that resembles the Pebble Time Round, and have slim bezels and a single navigation key. It will have a single button, which will resemble Apple Watch's crown and not include LTE connectivity, GPS support and heart rate sensor. Interestingly, Swordfish will support Google's interchangeable MODE bands, while Angelfish will not.

Currently it is not known when Google will release its two Android Wear smartwatches, but they could arrive some time after the launch of 2016 Nexus smartphones.
