The 6-inch BLU Energy XL comes with 5000mAh battery and $299 price tag


Following the launch the R1 HD, U.S based budget smartphone maker BLU has introduced the Energy XL with bigger display and battery. The phone sports metal build, runs Android 5.1 Lollipop (upgradable to Marshmallow) and has a fingerprint scanner under the home button.

The main highlight of Energy XL is its beefy 5000mAh battery, that BLU claims can last up to three days of standard usage and 30 days standby time. It also supports quick charge, with promised charge times from 0 to 15% in only 10 minutes, and from 0 to 43% in half an hour.

The Energy XL sports a bigger 6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) Super AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 3 coating and is powere by 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor further aided by Mali T720 GPU and 3GB RAM. On-board storage is 64GB, which can be expanded via microSD card.

For photography, there's 13-megapixel rear camera (w/ OIS, PDAF) and 5-megapixel front facing camera, both accompanied by LED flash. Connectivity duties are handled by 4G LTE (compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile in U.S), VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and USB Type-C 2.0 port.

The BLU Energy XL is priced at $299 and is available in the U.S via Amazon. It comes in Full Gold or White-Silver color options.
