Xiaomi's latest offering is a $4 portable Mi mosquito repellent (China)

Expanding its product portfolio under its MIJIA brand, Xiaomi has launched a portable mosquito repellent in China targeted at consumers who like camping and being outdoors.

The Mi Mosquito repellent is a circular shaped device that measures 4.6cm in diameter and weighs 25g. It holds a mosquito repellent mat inside, which can be placed inside a tiny slot by twisting the device 90 degrees. The heating element is made of stainless steel.

It is dust-proof, utilizes PTC low-voltage thermostat as the core component and has a micro USB port and can be powered by a power bank, making it useful when taking it outdoors, where there is no power supply.

Xiaomi says that a 10000mAh power bank can power it for up to 15.7 hours continuously and with 20000mAh power bank, it can last up to 28.2 hours.

The MI mosquito repellent is priced at CNY 29 ($4 | Rs. 290) and is available only in China.
