Xiaomi Redmi Pro with 5.5-inch OLED display, dual rear cameras goes official
Xiaomi has announced its latest Redmi series smartphone dubbed Redmi Pro "the most powerful Redmi ever" in China. The phone sports brushed aluminum body with chamfered edges, dual rear camera and gets a ceramic fingerprint sensor, which is integrated into the home button. It runs Android Marshmallow based MIUI 8.
The main highlight of Redmi Pro is its dual-rear camera, that includes a 13-megapixel Sony IMX258 unit for still images and secondary 5-megapixel unit with Samsung sensors for achieving depth of field and real-time background blur. Thanks to dedicated DOF ImagiQ processor, the Redmi Pro offers hardware level depth of field processing. The dual rear cameras are complemented by LED flash and PDAF. For clicking selfies and video calling there's 5-megapixel front camera.
Moving on to other specs, the Xiaomi Redmi Pro features 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels OLED 2.5D curved glass display and is powered by 2.5GHz deca-core MediaTek Helio X25 processor coupled with Mali T880 GPU.
It comes in two variants – 3GB RAM w/ 64GB storage and 4GB RAM w/ 128GB storage. There's a MediaTek Helio X20 powered model, which has 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. Storage is expandable via microSD card.
Connectivity duties are handled by hybrid dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE w/ VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and USB Type-C. It is backed by a massive 4100mAh battery.
The Xiaomi Redmi Pro Helio X20 + 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant is priced at CNY 1499 ($224 | Rs. 15,000); Helio X25 + 3GB RAM + 64GB storage is priced CNY 1699 ($254 | Rs. 17,130); Helio X25 + 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant is priced CNY 1999 ($299 | Rs. 20,000). It comes in Gold, Sliver and Grey color, and will go on sale in China starting August 6.
