Huawei G9 Plus with 5.5-inch display, Snapdragon 625 SoC announced


A few months after introducing the GP Lite, Huawei has announced a new high-end smartphone for its home market China, the G9 Plus. Similar to G9 Lite, the G9 Plus also sports a metal unobody design and has a fingerprint scanner at the back. It runs Android Marshmallow with EMUI 4.1 on top.

The Huawei G9 Plus flaunts a 5.5-inch Full HD display and the performance is handled by an octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor. It comes in two variants  3GB RAM/ 32GB storage and 4GB RAM/ 64GB built-in storage.

For photography, it gets 16-megapixel Sony IMX298 rear camera with dual tone LED flash, OIS (optical image stabilisation), PDAF (phase detection auto-focus) and 4K video recording capabilities. For snapping selfies and video calling there's 8-megapixel front facing camera.

Connectivity duties are handled by dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and USB Type-C. It draws juice from a 3340mAh battery, that is rated to offer two days of normal usage. Despite packing a beefy battery, the G9 Plus has a sleek profile with a 7.3mm waistline and weighs 160g.

The Huawei G99 Plus prices start at CNY 2399 ($360 | Rs. 24,000) and is now available for purchase in China via online stores. It comes in Gold, Silver and Rose Gold colors.
