Microsoft plans to release two major updates for Windows 10 in 2017
Earlier this week Microsoft started rolling out Windows 10 Anniversary update to PCs worldwide. Now Microsoft has revealed plans for future Windows 10 update.
Microsoft in a blog post said that the Anniversary update is the last feature update of 2016 and it plans release two major updates to Windows 10 in 2017.
"Windows 10, version 1607 is our third Windows 10 feature update released. Based on feedback from organizations moving to Windows 10, this will be our last feature update for 2016, with two additional feature updates expected in 2017."
According to Windows Central the first major update for 2017 is code-named Redstone 2- which would be released in early 2017, while the second is code-named Redstone 3 and might arrive in 2017 summer.
The report further mentions that Microsoft is currently in the middle of Redstone 2 development, with the latest internal builds now being compiled around the 14900 range, so Windows Insiders can expect to get the update anytime soon for testing. There is no word on what features it will include.
