Tizen OS powered Samsung Z2 with 4G VoLTE launched in India for Rs. 4,590

Samsung's Linux based platform Tizen OS powers most of the company's products like smartwatch, TV, in-vehicle infotainment, refrigerator and smartphones. Although most of Samsung's phone run on Android, the company  launched two entry level Tizen based phones dubbed Z1 and Z3 last year. The company also claims to have sold one million units of Z1 within six months of launch in India.

Now Samsung has launched its third Tizen smartphone in the country called Z2. The phone runs Tizen OS 2.4 and supports 4G LTE w/ VoLTE (voice over LTE). It comes with features like S Bike mode and Ultra Data Saving Mode. It also has a built-in My Money Transfer app, that lets users easily manage transaction and generate mini bank statements. Using the app, you can also transfer up to Rs. 5,000 to others without web connectivity

Coming to the specs, the Samsung Z2 has 4-inch WVGA (800 x 480 pixels) TFT display, 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage, which can be expanded via microSD card. It gets 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 0.3-megapixel front camera. Apart from 4G LTE, other connectivity option include dual-SIM slots, 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and USB OTG. It is fueled by 1500mAh battery.

The Samsung Z2 is priced at Rs. 4,590 and will be available starting August 29 from offline retailers and Paytm. The phone comes bundled with  Jio Preview offer, which offer unlimited 4G data, unlimited voice calls, SMS and access to Jio suite of apps for 90 days.
