Battery-centric Lenovo P2 and entry-level A Plus announced

Along with the new K6 family, Lenovo at IFA 2016 also introduced the entry-level A Plus and battery-centric P2 (successor of Vibe P1) at IFA 2016.

The Android 5.1 Lollipop powered Lenovo A Plus pack low-end specs in a compact body. It has 4.5-inch display with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels, 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6580 processor, 1GB RAM, and 8GB inbuilt storage, which can be expanded via microSD card. It gets 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and 2-megapixel front facing camera. In terms of connectivity there's dual-SIM slots, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It is fueled by 2000mAh battery.

The Lenovo P2, just like its predecessor, the main highlight is the battery capacity. It comes with a slightly bigger 5100mAh battery as compared to 5000mAh on the Vibe P1. There's also a fingerprint scanner on the front, that is baked into the home button.

The P2 runs Adnroid 6.0.1 Marshmallow and features 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) AMOLED display and is powered by octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor and microSD card slot for storage expansion. It comes in two variants – 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage and 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage.

For photography, it gets 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash and 5-megapixel front facing camera. Connectivity duties are handled by 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and NFC.

The Lenovo P2 will start at 249 Euros ($ 277 | Rs. 18,500) and is expected to release in November while the Lenovo A Plus costs 69 Euros ($ 77 | Rs. 5,000) and will roll out globally starting from Europe.
