Micromax Canvas 5 Lite with 2GB RAM, 4G VoLTE launched for Rs. 6,499

Micromax has launched a new smartphone in India dubbed Canvas 5 Lite, a variant of Canvas 5. Similar to its predecessor, the Canvas 5 Lite offers a premium look, thanks to the metallic frame and leather like removable back cover. But the specs have been toned down.

The Micromax Canvas 5 Lite features 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display, 1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor w/ Mali-T720 GPU, 2GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt storage, with storage expansion support via microSD card. It gets 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and 5-megapixel front camera for selfies. The dual-SIM phone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and supports 4G w/ VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.  It is backed by 2000mAh battery, that's rated to deliver up to 150 hours of standby time, and 4.5 hours of talk time.

For comparison, the Canvas 5 offered a slightly bigger 5.2-inch display with 1080p screen resolution, 3GB RAM, 13MP rear camera, a bigger 2900mAh battery and Rs. 11,999 price tag.

The Micromax Canvas 5 Lite is priced at Rs. 6,499 and is exclusively available via Snapdeal in Slate Grey or Brown hues.
