OnePlus reportedly merging OxygenOS and HydrogenOS to deliver faster updates

When Cynaogen and OnePlus parted ways, the latter introduced its own Android based international ROM OxygenOS, and a modified version for China dubbed HydrogenOS. Now OnePlus is reportedly planning to merge both OS.

According to the report by merging OxygenOS and HydrogenOS,  OnePlus will be able to deliver faster software updates. The report mentions that bringing the teams of OxygenOS and HydrogenOS together, would allow developers to put all their effort on a single user interface, thus, eliminating bug fixes and other flaws quickly. As a result OnePlus will be able to offer faster software updates.

The report also adds that, OnePlus will also use the feedback from the community and decide what features would be more universally accepted by the users, and which one should be removed.

Multiple reports state that OxygenOS 3.5, which is based on Android Marshmallow, will be the first unified OS coming from this merger. An announcement  is expected in the coming days.
