Sony Xperia XZ launched in India for Rs. 51,990, sales begin October 10

Sony Mobile has launched the Xperia XZ in India for a MRP of Rs. 51,990 and best buy price of Rs 49,990. It will be available to pre-order via all Sony Center, select retail outlets and online exclusively on Amazon India from October 1, and will go on sale on October 10.

The handset will come bundled with the UCH12 quick charger, a three-month subscription of Sony LIV worth Rs 349, and Modern Combat 5 Gameloft credits worth Rs 780. As part of the pre-order offer, Sony is offering the SmartBand Talk SWR30 worth Rs 8,990 free with the Xperia XZ.

The Sony Xperia XZ was initially unveiled at IFA 2016 alongside the Xperia X Compact. The Xperia XZ boasts of some serious camera performance. Sony claims it to be the world's first phone to feature a 5-axis video stabilization solution. It also has Sony's Triple Image Sensing Technology – phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF), laser auto-focus and color.

The main camera is a 23-megapixel units with f/2.0 aperture, LED flash, 4K video recording and Exmor RS sensor. On the front there's a 13-megapixel 90-degree wide angle lens camera for selfies and video calling. The handset also has a dedicated shutter release button.

Coming to the other specs, the Xperia XZ features 5.2-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 820 SoC, 3GB RAM, 64GB inbuilt expandable storage, 4G VoLTE, USB Type-C port, hybrid dual-SIM slots, NFC, WiFi and Bluetooth 4.2. It is IP68 rated for water and dust resistance, and includes a fingerprint sensor embedded into the power button. A 2900mAh battery keeps it running, which supports Quick Charge 3.0 technology and adaptive charging.

The Xperia XZ comes in Forest Blue, Mineral Black and Platinum hues. The handset will also go on sale in the U.S on October 2 for $700. It will offer 32GB inbuilt storage instead of 64GB storage.
