Vodafone Australia Confirms Halt Of Nexus 6P Nougat 7.0 OTA
After much speculation as to why the Nexus devices are not getting the Nougat 7.0 update, Vodafone Australia has come up and cleared the haze.
Vodafone Australia wrote this on their support page:
Rollout delayed
An issue is affecting rollout of this software update and we are working with Huawei to resolve ASAP. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and will keep you posted as soon as we have an update.
The Nexus owners have also complained about their device's poor battery life and performance after they had upgraded to Nougat.
AndroGuider reached out to Google's support staff and they told us that the Nougat 7.0 update is successfully rolling out to the devices which were bought directly from the Google Store (devices whose IMEI number sstarts with 8676 are bought from the Google Store). Google's support staff also told us that the Nougat 7.0 update had been handed over to the carriers and Nexus manufacturers all over the world. According to Google, it is now up to the carriers and manufacturers when they rollout the update from their end. This means that if you had bought your Nexus device from a third party source (a non-"Google Store") such as Amazon or eBay, then Google is not responsible for handing out the update to your device. In that case, either the carrier or the manufacturer is responsible for sending out the update.
