Airtel will offer iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus starting at Rs. 19,990 with 12-months contract in India
The Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be finally available for purchase in India later today at 7pm on 3,000 retail stores across the country, and online on Flipkart. Just hours before the sale commences, Airtel has announced that the iPhone 7/7 Plus will be available at its retail stores across the country and website as well later today. Additionally the telecom operator will bundle 4G data benefits with the new iPhones.
According to Airtel, iPhone 7/ 7 Plus buyers who have an Airtel Infinity postpaid plan, can avail 10GB of free 3G/ 4G data per month for 12 months (total 120GB over the year). The free benefit will be over and above the data bundled with Inifinity postpaid plans, which start from Rs. 949 and goes all the way to Rs. 2,999 with a data limit going from 1GB to 20GB. The base Rs. 949 plan offer 1GB (+10GB) of data, unlimited calls,100 national SMS/ day, and free subscription to Wynk Music and Wynk Movies services.
Airtel will also offer iPhone 7/ iPhone 7 Plus on contract for postpaid customer. For iPhone 7 32GB, you will have to pay Rs. 19,990 as down-payment and choose one of the monthly infinity plans (Rs. 1,999/Rs. 2,499/ Rs. 2999). You can opt in for the Airtel iPhone mobile plans for a period of 12 months.
Here's how the on-contract system will work (available in Karnataka and Noida)
All you need to do is sign up for one of the following Airtel iPhone mobile plans (‘Plan’) for a minimum period of 12 months. You shall be required to pay the Minimum Initial Payment (down payment) for the device value upfront and the rest shall be paid for by Bajaj Finance Ltd. (”BFL”) by way of loan for the device which you shall avail, in addition to signing up for the mobile plan under this offer.
- Rs. 1999 plan per month – 5GB data+ Unlimited calling (local/STD/roaming- mobile+ fixed line)
- Rs. 2499 plan per month – 10GB data + Unlimited calling (local/STD/roaming- mobile+ fixed line)
- Rs. 2999 plan per month – 15GB data+ Unlimited calling (local/STD/roaming- mobile+ fixed line)

As part of subscribing to the Plan, you shall be signing up for BFL to finance the device value over and above the Minimum Initial Payment at 0% rate of interest. You need to come back any time during the 13th month to return the device (or upgrade to the latest iPhone available at that time). In case you wish to retain the device, a ‘Balloon Payment’ (starts at Rs 24,000) will be auto-debited from your account by BFL.
Thereafter, BFL will debit the remaining outstanding amount (‘Balloon Payment’) from your account and your contract with Airtel for the Plan will terminate and your loan with BFL will be closed.
