Apple expected to announce new Macs on October 27
Apple's MacBook line up is expected to receive a major upgrade this year. To recollect the last refreshed Apple MacBook, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro line up was launched back in March 2015.
Now according a report from Recode, Apple will announce new Macs including refreshed MacBook Pro and MacBook Air line up at an event on October 27.
The report says that, the new MacBooks will run Apple's new macOS Sierra. The refreshed MacBook Pro models will reportedly have Touch ID and an OLED touch bar, instead of the standard function keys at the top of the keyboard. It will include support for Apple Pay and do away with traditional USB ports, as well as for MagSafe and Thunderbolt 2, in favor of USB Type-C.
As for the new MacBook Air models, Apple will reportedly kill the 11-inch MacBook Air, instead concentrate on 13-inch model, which will also house USB Type-C port as well.
Apart from refreshed MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, Apple is also expected to introduce refreshed iMac models with AMD graphic chips and a new 5K (5120 x 2880) external display which comes equipped with a built-in GPU.
Recode's report also mentions that Apple will hold its October 27 event near its Cupertino Campus, instead of San Francisco, where it has introduce many products including the latest iPhones.
