Assistant Enabler Is A Standalone App That Can Enable Google Assistant On Marshmallow
A few days back we had posted a tutorial on how you can enable Google Assistant on a Marshmallow device using Android N-ify and the Xposed framework.
Now another Xposed module which has been forked from Android N-ify for the sole purpose of enabling Google Assistant on Marshmallow is up for grabs.
Google Assistant is the flagship feature of the Pixel devices, which were unveiled by Google in an event on October 4. Just like Apple's Siri, Google Assistant is your virtual assistant which can be used to perform various tasks such as getting weather info, "virtual hugs", asking for directions, "virtual money", asking questions and for general conversations.
To enable the Google Assistant without Android N-ify, you'll need the following requirements along with the following four updated apps:
Any ROM based on Android Marshmallow (Stock/CM/AOSP) should work
Latest Xposed framework v86
Latest Material Design Xposed Installer
Latest Google App Beta 6.6.16
Latest Google Play Services 9.8.77
Assistant Enabler Xposed Module
1. Flash the Xposed Framework via TWRP
2. Reboot your device.
3. Install the Xposed Installer APK
4. Update your Google App + Google Play Services with the apps linked in the post.
5. Install the Assistant Enabler APK
6. Enable the module via the Xposed Installer app.
7. Reboot/Soft reboot the device
This module couldn't have been possible without the contributions of these people: Herdianto Aj Deh, Sabissimo, MrWasdennnoch, Maxr1998
