BlackBerry DTEK60 Gets Official Listing, Specifications Are Up!

We had reported a few hours back that the BlackBerry DTEK60 is up for pre-orders. Now it looks as if BlackBerry would be making the device official within a few hours only.

BlackBerry is updating it's site with the specifications of the DTEK60 aka Argon. Here are the "official" specifications of the device:

• 5.5" Quad HD Screen (534 PPI)
• Android 6.0 Marshmallow
• 21 MP rear camera & 8 MP front camera with flash
• On-screen keyboard
• Convenience Key
• Expandable memory up to 2 TB

And of course, the DTEK60 being a phone from BlackBerry's warehouse, you would not be compromised on security even a bit as BlackBerry is well renowned for their world class security.

However, as we had covered up in our design review of the DTEK60 based on the leaked renders, it seems as if BlackBerry has compromised on it's phone's design this time. The price remains an important factor here. Based on the price of the DTEK60 on the pre-order websites we had covered up in our last post, Argon is expected to be priced around $650. This is too high a price for a phone of this cadre, also taking into consideration the fact that BlackBerry is losing a grip of the smartphone market. Only time will tell how BlackBerry's last venture in smartphone manufacturing will go by.

Don't be surprised if BlackBerry makes the device official today itself because even when the DTEK50 was listed officially on BlackBerry's site, it was available across multiple online stores the very same day.
