Google WiFi is a $129 smart router to improve your home's wireless network

At its event in San Francisco, Google introduced a new smart WiFI router called Google WiFi. The router will work in a mesh like system, allowing you to add more devices to extend network coverage and get a strong signal throughout your house.

The router comes with Network Assist technology that automatically places you on the clearest channel and provides optimal Wi-Fi band for your device. When you roam around your house, Network Assist will adjust your device between the Google WiFi points, so you avoid dead spots or delays, and get the best signal.

The router works with a companion app that lets you exercise control over kids devices by cutting off their WiFi access form your phone when necessary. The app also shows which devices are connected and how much bandwidth they are consuming, which will let you prioritize devices within your network.

It features an LED light to show network status, an Ethernet port, USB Type-C for power, and supports dual-band 5GHz Wi-Fi and AC1200 standards and Bluetooth Smart for the mesh network.

Google WiFi is priced at $129 (Rs. 9,000) for a single pack and $299 (Rs. 20,000) for a pack of three devices (for houses larger than 1,500sq. ft). It will be available for pre-order in the U.S in November via Google Store, Amazon, Best Buy and Walmart, and will ship to customers in December.
