HP's 2016 Spectre x360 laptop gets thinner, lighter and powerful

Last year, HP unveiled the Spectre x360, a 13.3-inch 2-in-1 laptop, which can be used as tablet via 360-degree rotatable hinge. Now HP is upgrading the laptop with a new thinner and lighter body, powerful processor, improved battery life and Windows 10.

The 2016 edition of HP Spectre x360 has a thickness of 13.8mm and weighs 1.3kg, when compared to its predecessor (15.9mm thin & 1.45kg). HP also says that the laptop has an improved hinge which helps you hold the screen firmly in place when you're using it in tablet, tent or laptop mode.

The Spectre x360 has a 13.3-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS edge-to-edge display and supports Intel Core i5 or Core i7 Kaby Lake processor, 8GB/ 16GB RAM and 256GB/512GB/1TB PCIe SSD.

The laptop packs a 57.8 Wh battery that will last for around 15 hours. It also supports fast charging, allowing you to get 90 percentage charge in just 90 minutes.

Other features include quad speakers powered by Bang & Olufsen, Infrared camera for Windows Hello (login via facial recognition), Full HD webcam, 2 x USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 ports and a USB 3.0 port.

The HP Spectre x360 is now available on HP.com. Prices start at $1049 for the Core i5/8GB RAM/256 SSD model and goes up to $1299 for the Core i7/16GB RAM/512GB SSD model. It will also be available via US retailer Best Buy later this month.
