Install the Pixel Launcher & Google Wallpapers to your System partition
With the news of the Pixel Launcher and Google Wallpapers app coming to the Play Store, many users below Nougat or not using the Google Pixel phones were distraught to find that they could not download the Pixel Launcher due to compatibility issues, XDA member joeyhuab (yes, that's me) made a flashable zip file for advanced users to be able to install the app straight to the system partition.
What makes installing the app in the system partition special is that it enables you to use the swipe left feature that puts you straight into the Google App from the launcher. It also gives your Calendar icon the circle background as well as dynamic dates. Also, once installed to the system, this allows the Google Wallpapers app to be updated via the Play Store now that it is linked to its Play Store page.
