Microsoft schedules Windows 10 event for October 26

Microsoft has sent out invite for its fall Windows 10 event scheduled on October 26 in New York city. The invite reads "Imaging what you'll do" followed by "Please join us to see what's next for Windows 10".

At Microsoft's last major event "Windows 10 Devices", the company unveiled Lumia 950/ 950 XL, Lumia 550, Band 2 fitness band, Surface Pro 4 2-in-tablet and Surface Book.

As for the October 26 event, according to reports Microsoft will talk about new Windows 10 features (Redstone update), unveil new Surface hardware, most likely the Surface AIO PC, make Xbox related announcements and show off laptops and devices from OEMs.

However the company will not be unveiling the follow up of Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book, which are expected to launch next year alongside the Surface Phone.

Just few days back Surface branded mouse and keyboard showed up on FCC website, so we can also expect Microsoft to show off these peripherals. The Surface Mouse is expected to retail for $30 and features Bluetooth LE, take 2 x AAA batteries and offers two months of usage. The Surface Keyboard is a take on the modern Ergonomic Sculpt keyboard, and has a number pad and  gray coat. The Surface keyboard and mouse are strong indication that a Surface AIO PC is coming, and could be bundled with it.

The Microsoft Windows 10 event will start at 10AM EDT (7:30PM IST) on October 26, Wednesday.
