Samsung Galaxy C9 with 6GB RAM gets certified by TENAA, C9 Pro photos leaked

Putting the Galaxy Note7 fiasco behind, Samsung is gearing up for the launch of a new smartphone dubbed the Galaxy C9. Earlier this week the company started teasing Galaxy C9 and is yet to reveal an announcement date.

The Galaxy C9 has already surfaced in several benchmark listings, revealing C9 will be a mid-ranger boasting powerful innards. Now the handset has been certified by China's TENAA outing product shots and confirming earlier leaked specs.

As seen in the photos, the Galaxy C9 will have the same metal unibody design as the Galaxy C5 and C7, but will have a new antenna pattern on the back. TENAA also confirms that the Galaxy C9 will pack 6GB RAM, making it Samsung's first smartphone to have that much memory.

Apart from 6GB RAM, the Galaxy C9 will feature 6-inch 1080p AMOLED display, octa-core Snapdragon 652, 64GB inbuilt storage, microSD card slot, 16MP front and rear camera each, fingerprint scanner, dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE, NFC, Android Marshmallow and 4000mAh battery. It will measure 162 x 80.7 x 6.9mm and weigh 185g.

Meanwhile, in a separate leak, a higher end variant of Galaxy C9 called Galaxy C9 Pro have surfaced online in photos. The photos also show the new antenna design, which Samsung is touting "next level of antenna craftsmanship". Unfortunately the specs are not yet known.

The Galaxy C9 and C9 Pro are expected to come in Gold, Silver and Rose Gold colors, and are rumored to be announced in China later this month.
