Windows 10 Creators Update coming in early 2017 with new 3D, gaming and sharing features
Microsoft at its Windows 10 event in New York City announced its next major Windows 10 update called Creators Update, which was earlier known as Redstone 2.
The Creators update will be rolling out early 2017 to all Windows 10 users for free and will be available for Windows 10 PCs/ Laptops, tablets, HoloLens and more. The update will bring a number of improvements and features , but places heavy focus on creating 3D and mixed reality.
"The Creators Update will enable anyone to create, share and experience in 3D and mixed reality, connect people faster to those they care about most and empower every gamer to be a broadcaster." said Microsoft
Highlights of Windows 10 Creators Update
Microsoft also said that it will add additional productivity, creativity, security and gaming features in the update soon. The Windows 10 Creators Update Developer Preview will be available for Windows Insiders later this week.
- Paint 3D app – rebuilt paint app with 3D functions
- Remix3D.com – Online community for sharing 3-D creations
- Capture 3D app for Windows 10 Mobile – capture multiple points of an object in 3D, and save it as a model.
- Support for 3D in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Support for VR headset platform
- 3D Support for Microsoft Edge browser
- eSports tournament support and new game broadcast capabilities for Xbox One and Windows 10 PC
- 4K gaming support
- Universal Windows Platform with Pen support
- Windows MyPeople – a taskbar feature focused on sharing and communication (pin favorite contacts to Windows taskbar; drag and drop any document, photo or video on top of pinned contacts for easy sharing)
