Xiaomi announces Mi Note 2 with curved display, Snapdragon 821 SoC and 6GB RAM
Xiaomi today finally took the wraps of the Mi Note 2 with a design that makes it look a lot like Samsung's doomed Galaxy Note7. Just like the Galaxy Note7 the Mi Note 2 sports a 5.7-inch curved display, but has a lower resolution of Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) and OLED panel.
It features Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, support for up to 6GB RAM, up to 256GB storage, fingerprint scanner built into the home button and a 4070mAh battery.
There's a 23MP Sony IMX318 rear camera with , phase detection auto-focus and Electronic Image Stabilization with its own 3-axis gyroscope for 4K video stabilization, and a 8MP front shooter.
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 comes in two versions depending on RAM and storage. Prices start at CNY 2799 (approx. 27,600) for the 4GB RAM/64GB storage version and CNY 3299 (approx. 32,600) for the top model with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.
There's also a third international version of Mi Note 2 with support for 37 global networks, 6GB RAM and 128GB storage priced at CNY 3499 (approx. 34,500), aimed at global market.
Other features of Mi Note 2 include 192 Khz/24-bit audio, dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE+ with up to 600Mbps download speeds, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, IR port, USB Type-C and Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging support. It runs Android Marshmallow based MIUI 8, measures 156.2mm x 77.3mm x 7.6mm and weighs 166 grams.
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will be available in Piano Black and Glacier Silver colors in China from November 1.
