1 million Redmi 3S, Redmi 3S Prime units sold on Flipkart in less than four months

Xiaomi smartphones have become very popular in India, given its combination of well-spec'ed devices and competitive price tags. In September the Chinese smartphone maker claimed that it sold more than 2.3 million units of Redmi Note 3 (23 lakh uinits) within six months of launch, making it the bestselling smartphone in the country, online till date.

Now Xiaomi's has announced that it has sold more than one million units (10 lakh) of Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S prime through online partner Flipkart in the country within three months of launch. The mid-range budget smartphones were launched in the country back in August and were available exclusively on Flipkart and Mi.com.

It's also worth mentioning that the Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime were also the best-selling products during Flipkart's Big Billion sale last month. Both phones have a rating of 4.2 stars in the 'below 12K' segment in smartphones.

To refresh, the Redmi 3S and 3S prime are priced at Rs. 6,999 and Rs. 8,999 respectively. The main difference between both phones is that the Redmi 3S has 2GB RAM and 16GB storage, while the Redmi 3S Prime is a beefy variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, and also gets a fingerprint scanner.Other specifications include 5-inch HD IPS display, Snapdragon 430 processor, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, 4G VoLTE, MIUI 7 based Android Marshmallow and 4100mAh battery.

Currently both phones are out of stock on Flipkart, and are listed as coming soon.
