AICP 12.1 Nightlies Have Started, Come With a New Bootanimation
Android Nougat 7.1 based nightlies of AICP 12.1 have now started. The ROM build number had received a bump from 12.0 (based on Nougat 7.0) to 12.1 last week. AICP nightlies have been available for a range of devices since the last month, making the Android Ice Cold Project one of the very few ROMs at the moment to have Nougat based official builds.
AICP 12.1 nightlies starting from today will also come in with a brand new bootanimation, a preview of which is available in the above video.
Even though official CyanogenMod 14.1 builds had started yesterday in the form of experimental builds, don't expect to see any significant changes in terms of better commits or features when CyanogenMod starts rolling out official nightlies.
As we have discussed in many of our last posts now, since the bring up of CMTE has been slower than expected this year, many ROMs have either reallocated to Substratum or are waiting for CMTE to become mature. AICP is preferring the latter course and hence you will not be able to find the theming engine in this build of AICP.
If you have been hiding under the rock or somewhere else, then you might be having a hard time figuring out what happened to the old AICP logo as well. The old logo (shown in the image above) was replaced during the final days of Marshmallow ROMs.
