Android 7.1.1 Nougat update likely to roll out to Nexus devices on December 6
Google last month confirmed that final build of Android 7.1 Nougat will roll out to Pixel, Nexus and Android One devices in December, without revealing the exact date. Now a mobile carrier has listed the specific date and related information of the update roll out.
According to Vodafone Australia's website, the Android 7.1.1 Nougat for Nexus 6P will be rolled out on December 6. The OTA update will carry the build number NMF26F and will be 650MB in size. The site also reveals that Android 7.1.1 has security patch update for December 2016 as well.
It's worth mentioning that Google hasn't made the roll out details official yet.
The Android 7.1.1 Nougat features will enable developers to add app shortcuts, which is Google's version of Apple's 3D touch. It will also include data saving measures to free space, Google Assistant and design tweaks like circular app icon and image keyboard support.
Apart from Nexus 6P, the update is also likely to be rolled out toNexus 5X, Nexus 6, Nexus 9, Nexus Player, Pixel C, Pixel, Pixel XL and General Mobile 4G Android One smartphone.
