Apple will replace faulty iPhone 6s battery free of charge
Last week, Apple announced 'touch disease' program for the iPhone 6 Plus. Now the Cupertino tech giant has launched another program called 'Apple iPhone 6s Program for Unexpected Shutdown issues'.
As part of the program Apple is offering free battery replacements for affected iPhone 6s units, that caused the phone to unexpectedly shut down. The company says that this problem is affecting a very small number of iPhone 6s units, which were manufactured between September and October 2015.
If you have experienced the battery issue problem, you can visit Apple store or an Apple Authorised Service provider and have your iPhone's serial number checked to confirm the eligibility for battery replacement. A "limited serial number range" was affected, Apple said.
Note that, the iPhone 6s with other damage such as cracked display, will not be eligible for the replacement, until the device is reported. Phone owners should also back up data and then wipe it all, before handing it for the replacement. Apple did not mention if the problem is affecting the iPhone 6s Plus units.
