Barnes & Noble launches $50 Nook Tablet 7" in the U.S


Barnes & Noble has launched a new ultra-affordable entry-level 7-inch tablet in the U.S dubbed Nook Tablet 7". The new tablet B&N's answer to Amazon's $50 Fire tablet.

As the name suggests the Nook Tablet 7" has a 7-inch display bearing the resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels and offers 171ppi. It is powered by quad-core MediaTek MT8163 processor and comes with 8GB storage and microSD card slot for storage expansion. The RAM is not known, but it could be 1GB.

The tablet sports 5MP rear camera and 2MP front facing camera. Connectivity options include dual-band WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth and 3.5mm headset jack for connectivity

It is backed by 3000mAH battery, which promises seven hour of battery life for reading, watching videos and web browsing. The tablet runs Android Marshmallow with full access to Google Play store and ships with Google apps like Search, Chrome browser and Maps.

The Nook Tablet 7" will be available in the U.S at Barnes & Noble stores starting on Black Friday, November 25 carrying a price tag of $50 (Rs. 3,336). It is now up for pre-order.
