Gionee S9, S9T with dual-rear cameras get certified by TENAA

Dual-cameras system are fast becoming a norm on smartphones these days. Apple, Huawei, LG, Xiaomi, ZTE have already jumped on the bandwagon, while LeEco and vivo's upcoming smartphone will have dual-rear cameras.

Now the latest smartphone manufacturer to join the party is Gionee. Two upcoming smartphones from the Chinese manufacturer called S9 and S9T have been certified by China's certification agency TENAA.

The S9 is the successor of S8 and the brand's first to feature dual-rear cameras. As per TENAA, Gionee S9/ S9T will boast dual 13MP + 5MP rear cameras accompanied by dual-tone LED flash. The front facing camera will be a 13MP unit.

The Gionee S9 and S9T will have the same hardware, except for the processor. The S9 will be powered by octa-core 1.8GHz CPU, while the S9T will be powered by octa-core 2GHz CPU.

As for the other specs, the Gionee S9 and S9T will have 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS 2.5D curved glass display, 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, hybrid dual-SIM slot, 4G VoLTE and 3000mAh battery. It will also include a fingerprint sensor which is embedded into the home button and run Android Marshmallow with Amigo OS 3.2 on top.

Currently, it is not known when Gionee will launch the S9, but since the device has received TENAA certification, we expect an official announcement soon.
